Area Purchasing Agent

Position Summary
We are looking for a motivated purchasing agent at our Manasota branch! To be a good fit for this role, the candidate should have a background in purchasing and should be detail-oriented. This position requires collaboration with multiple departments and colleagues. Being a team player is critical in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain proper inventory levels of stocked items for all assigned branches
  •  Create transfers and special orders as needed for all assigned branches
  • Monitor contracts ensuring vendors and suppliers comply with requested terms and conditions
  • Consolidate orders among assigned branches when necessary to meet freight and maximize discounts
  • Accomplish purchasing mission by completing related results as needed for a multi-branch organization
  • Work with sales and management to move to exist in a timely fashion
  • Work with team to reduce dead or slow-moving inventory
  • Work daily to standardize SKUs within category lines for freight reduction; cost savings
  • Manage dedicated lines for assigned “turn” ratio
  • Run backorder reports to maintain items needed are on order
  • Review open transfers and purchase orders for timely ordering
  • Provide purchasing planning and control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends from associated reporting
  • Work with sales team and manager to review inventory product needs
  •  Work with other branches to optimize buying
