Credit & Collections Administrative Assistan

Reports to:  Credit & Collections Manager

Schedule:  Full-time (40 hours/week)

FLSA:  Non-exempt

Position Summary
Our dynamic team is looking for the right candidate to join our Credit & Collections department. He/she will have strong customer service skills and accounts receivables/collections experience. The right candidate will have a can-do attitude and be willing to assist in a variety of areas to help support the team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wishes to grow with a great company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Filing and record keeping of all open and closed records
• Maintain orderly filing room and ensure all records are accurate and up-to-date
• Review and process credit applications
• Run credit reports, check trade references and business licenses
• Prepare and mail correspondence to customers
• Review and set up new COD accounts
• Collections – contact customers as needed and negotiate the collection of outstanding accounts to ensure timely receivables
• Accurately enter information in FACTS system and run reports
• Maintain logs, reports, tax certificates and statistical reports
• Update and maintain department monthly and yearly reports
• Handle incoming calls and answer queries to the department
• Attend company functions and meetings as required
• Provide backup assistance for credit and collections department responsibilities as needed
• Work closely with all Accounting, Branch personnel, VPs, and others to maintain efficient interdepartmental contact.
• Participate in ongoing training to enhance skills
• Other duties as assigned

Successful candidates will have the following skills and attributes:
• Positive, enthusiastic and flexible attitude
• Team-player mentality
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; especially Word, Excel & Outlook
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills
• High School diploma or equivalent required, some college preferred
• Bi-lingual preferred
• Accounting background; Collections experience preferred
• Notice to Owner and Lien experience preferred
