Position Summary

AquaCal AutoPilot Inc. is looking for a self-motivated Lab Technician! The Lab Technician is a self-motivative starter who is honest, dependable, and hard-working. A focused problem-solver, the individual combines an excellent technical and learning aptitude with perseverance, determination, and a high level of critical thinking. They interact with teammates with integrity, positivity, and an open mind to help achieve operational goals.

This individual recognizes that efficiency, precision, and flexibility are inherent aspects of their work. The Lab Technician is diligent and detail-oriented to ensure the highest level of work. They recognize the value of their job and its importance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform charge and performance evaluations for all heat pumps
  • Test and prepare heat pumps for compliance audit testing through AHRI and Intertek
  • Build and modify working prototypes for new design and new component testing
  • Maintain lab equipment and ensure all systems are within compliance
  • Collect data and develop performance data reports using various software
  • Maintain open and transparent communication with First Shift Lab Technician and Mechanical Engineering Manager
  • Enroll in continuous education courses to stay up to date with current quality practices and HVAC technology
  • Promote leadership, teamwork, and a positive outlook
  • Other duties as assigned

Other Requirements:

  • Positive, enthusiastic, and flexible attitude
  • High School diploma or technical school
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • EPA Certified
  • Brazing and soldering experience
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems and HVAC systems
  • Mechanically inclined – use of hand tools, power tools, and test equipment
  • Fluent in English
  • Competent in Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional wiring schematics, journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Knowledge of testing equipment and statistical methods
  • 2–3-years’ experience in a manufacturing or lab environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Planner
  • Basic understanding of plumbing
