Position Summary
This position plays a key role in supporting the marketing and event planning events of Team Horner Group. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic team player who is able to quickly learn department processes and the requirements of their role, very detail oriented, stay organized under competing priorities, and efficiently perform their duties.

Key Responsibilities:

Event Support

  • Assist the Events Director in all areas of event planning. This includes liaising with event venues and vendors, sourcing promotional items and marketing materials, placing orders, and maintaining active follow-up to meet deadlines.
  • Update and maintain events calendar for the Marketing Department.
  • Update and maintain Event Management Systems (Registrations, Bookings/Reservations, Accounting)
  • Assist with coordinating the promotion of events including creating engaging Social Media content for events, e-blasts, suggesting creative marketing and advertising ideas to get maximum participation, and capturing registrations and responses.
  • Pack, stage, and ship all materials for events.
  • Set up, attend, assist as needed, and break down company events.

Monthly Team Horner Newsletter

  • Maintain calendar for submissions and follow up with teammates to ensure timely monthly publication of newsletter.
  • Work with Events Director and Marketing Manager to ensure accurate and appropriate content.
  • Help create content as necessary.
  • Liaise with the Art/Web Team for artwork.

Education & Color Me Healthy Support

  • Assist Education Director and Color Me Healthy Director as needed to create, print, and distribute marketing materials and documents, coordinate e-blasts, social media posts, website updates, and other events-related tasks.

Administrative Support for CEO

Order supplies, gifts, lunch, etc., assist with keeping office organized, print documents, and other miscellaneous tasks.


  • Provide efficient and proactive administrative support for the Marketing Department: Answer and transfer phone calls, data entry, order supplies, collect and distribute department mail, filing, database management.
  • Create, track and close projects/tickets in JIRA.
  • Cross train and assist as backup for other positions in the department.
  • Attend and participate in Marketing department and company team meetings.
  • Active participation in Swimming Pool Trade Organizations (FSPA, ISHOF, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education & Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or any other related field is preferred.
  • 2 – 3 years of previous marketing experience is a plus
